The Maison
We started with one stubborn irritation.
Every room I lived in had the same problem. One bright fixture in the middle of the ceiling, wired to one switch, throwing the same flat white light at seven in the morning and eleven at night. The only alternatives on offer were lamps chained to a wall socket I could not reach, or plastic gadgets with a colour-changing app.
So Lumé Maison began as a narrow brief: find light that is warm, that dims, that is cordless wherever the engineering allows, and that still looks like an object worth having when it is switched off. That last part rules out most of the category.
What we actually do
We are not a factory and we do not pretend to be. Lumé Maison is a curation house: we source lighting from manufacturing partners, we choose ruthlessly on material and on the quality of the light, and we reject far more than we list. A piece earns a place here if it is warm, if it dims, if the materials are honest — glass, marble, metal, oak, paper — and if it reads as sculpture with the light off.
Because we ship from our partners directly rather than holding a warehouse, delivery takes longer than a same-day marketplace: usually eight to sixteen days, tracked the whole way. We say so plainly on the shipping page rather than burying it at checkout. It is the honest trade for the price.
The house rules
- Warm light only. Everything lives in the candlelight band. Never a cold white LED.
- It must dim. A single fixed brightness cannot serve both reading and winding down.
- Cordless wherever the engineering allows, so a lamp is not hostage to the nearest outlet.
- Beautiful switched off, because that is how you will see it most of the day.
- No fabricated reviews, ever. When you see a rating here, someone paid for the thing and wrote it.
Who you are actually buying from
Lumé Maison was founded in 2026 and is run by one person: me, Noam. There is no support department and no ticket queue — when you email, I read it and I answer it. The business is registered at Habiluyim 37, Ramat Gan, Israel, and we sell in USD to customers worldwide.
Being new means we have not yet built a wall of reviews, and I would rather say that than manufacture one. What stands in its place is a 60-day money-back promise on every order, a free replacement if a piece arrives damaged, and a real reply at support@thelumemaison.com. If a lamp does not become the warmest corner of your room, I will make it right.
